At Lucas Lodge he plays the genial host and presses Mr. Darcy to stand up with Elizabeth, meaning nothing but kindness by it.

Ever ceremonious, he lets fall to Mr. Darcy at the Netherfield ball that a match between Jane and Mr. Bingley is generally expected.
