Mr. Bingley's handsome, fashionable sister, proud of her family's fortune and forgetful that it was made in trade. She sets her cap at Mr. Darcy and is sweetly contemptuous of the country families, Elizabeth above all.
Chapter VIII
At Netherfield she flatters Mr. Darcy without ceasing and amuses herself by sneering at Elizabeth and her country relations.
Chapter XI
Watching Darcy's eyes follow Elizabeth, she grows sharper, mocking the lady's fine eyes to the very man who admires them.
Chapter XXI
Her letter to Jane makes clear the Netherfield party will not return, and hints that her brother is destined for Miss Darcy.
